February 16, 2011

Dear Members,

Welcome to the 2011 season. A new feature for this year will be an OHGA member’s card that can be used for benefits and discounts at a number of Norwalk businesses and restaurants, including the Oak Hills Pro Shop.

Click here for a complete list of the businesses on the card.

Your cards will be available in the Pro Shop approximately 1 week after you register. Also, weekend tournament prizes have been adjusted to include the top FIVE (5) scores in most tournaments.

The annual spring meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, March 22nd, 7:00 PM at the Laurel Athletic Club, 14 North Street, Norwalk. We will review changes for the coming year and get an update from Vinnie Grillo on the condition of the course. The meeting is also a convenient time to pay your 2011 dues and become tournament eligible.

Annual dues for 2011 will be $65 prior to April 1st and $70 from April 1st on. Junior players (under 18) and college students will have discounted rates.

Please take the time to review the 2011 Tournament Rules, 2011 Local Rules, 2011 Tournament Schedule and sample Score Card prior to competing in your first tournament.

Please make note of the sign up dates for the Club Championship, Senior Club Championship and the Governor’s Cup (2 man teams). The Tournament Committee will not accept any late entries this year. Club Championship flights will be determined by the total number of sign-ups. The Tournament Committee will adjust the flight handicaps to get an even distribution of competitors. Any flight with more than 16 sign-ups will have a qualifying round.

Members who wish to participate in Metropolitan Golf Association (MGA) events and receive the Met Golfer magazine will be able to do so by paying an additional $10 in dues. We have created a second golf club called The Fillow Street Golf Association for this purpose. You must be a regular member of the OHGA in order to take advantage of this supplemental membership.

The OHGA Board wishes everyone in the association a successful and healthy 2011!

President, OHGA
