Seeding will be by handicap index (Exception: last year’s flight winners – if entered – will be seeded first). Ties will be seeded randomly
When 16 or less members sign up for a flight no qualifying round will be required.
When more than 16 members sign up for a flight a stroke play qualifying round must be played. Dates for the qualifying rounds are May 7th – 8th and May 14th – 15th.
When signing up members will indicate which days (Saturday or Sunday) they are available to play a qualifying round should it be necessary.
Qualifying round groupings will be assigned by the committee.
Players in each group are responsible for obtaining a tee time on one of the two qualifying weekends. No exceptions will be made. If you cannot play your qualifying round on one of the two available weekends you cannot qualify and you will not be eligible for the tournament.
Club Championship matches are to be played on weekends unless both competitors agree to play on a weekday. The finals will be played on Sunday August 21nd
Players must enter a gross score on the score sheet posted on the bulletin board by the first tee. Players who do not post a qualifying score will be disqualified. Correctly filled out scorecards (see example card on the bulletin board) must be placed in the Weekend Tournament score box near the GHIN computer in the Pro Shop at the completion of the qualifying round. In the event that the pro-shop is closed after your qualifying round, you must ensure that the scorecard is placed in the Weekend Tournament score box by the end of the next day.
The top 16 scores will qualify. Qualifying score ties will be decided by a match of cards.
In the event that a match is tied after 18 holes (except for the finals) the winner will be determined by a ‘chip off’ (under match play rules) over the pond to the 2nd practice putting green.
A member of the course staff will choose a hole on the practice putting green. The same hole will be used until a winner is decided. In the event that a course staff member is not available any person other than the competitors can select the hole to be played.
The player who has the honor after 18 will hit first and continue to do so in the event of a tie.
Any flower bed or mulched area is considered ground under repair and relief will be provided according to the rules of golf. Additionally, balls coming to rest on or over the road in front of the restaurant are considered OB. The pond is considered a water hazard and should be played as such.
Balls that end up in one of the holes that are not in play must be lifted and placed no nearer the hole and within 12 inches.
